The Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (MPEP)
The Manual of Patent Examining Procedure (MPEP) is a manual produced by the Patent Office. It’s used both internally by examiners, and also by patent agents and attorneys. The purpose of the patent bar exam is to test your knowledge of the MPEP. Only some parts of the MPEP are within the official scope of the exam, and within those parts, only some of the material is actually tested. We have done extensive research to determine exactly which parts are tested. Our course includes a paper copy of the MPEP, and we recommend that you use this for reference, rather than to study from. Our Exam Simulation Suite also includes the MPEP in the same format and version that you will be presented with on the actual exam.
