Continuing Legal Education (CLE)

The PatBar Patent Bar Review Course has been approved for CLE credits by the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board. The course is in the home study, audio compact disc (CD) format.

The course has been approved for 9 CLE credit hours in the category of "Areas of Professional Practice." This is based on the total length of the 91 lectures —471 minutes— provided in the course (and a 50 minute hour).

Most states requiring CLE credits do have reciprocity with other state approvals, but not necessarily for all formats. For example, a course in the home study format based on audio CD lectures may not be approved in your jurisdiction. Most state CLE Boards have a web site where you can determine the applicability of the PatBar course credits.

When placing an order, please indicate your desire to use the course to meet your CLE requirements. We can provide additional information at that time. Please note that each lecture contains an embedded CLE code number that must be noted and listed on the proper PatBar form in order to receive an official certification of completion of the course. A short questionnaire must be completed as well.

Financial Aid

PatBar has a financial aid policy for New York attorneys. New York attorneys who are unemployed may pay half price, and attorneys making less than $35K will receive a 25% discount. If these discounts apply, you may request them at the time you place your order (by phone only at 1-800-392-6512).
